NWFF Local Sightings Audience Award Screening

Event Date:
Apr 13 2014 - 7:00pm

Local Sightings is Northwest Film Forum’s premier showcase of Northwest filmmaking, and Naked City Brewery is thrilled to continue our sponsorship of the Audience Awards given to the most beloved feature and short films. Northwest Film Forum’s Local Sightings Film Festival is made by the people and for the people of the beautiful Pacific Northwest. The annual festival includes both feature film presentations as well as short film programs and special events with live film performances, installation art, audience participation, and parties.

Naked City sponsors the Audience Award for the films, and in 2013, the winners were A Dose for Dominic by Ruth Gregory of Edmonds (short film) and Walking Against the Wind by Brendan Flynn of Seattle (feature). Both will play at this screening, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Walking Against the Wind, a recently widowed street mime tries to manage his rebellious teen daughter as his life spirals ever downward. City Arts calls it an "Incredibly confident debut...with ravishing black-and-white cinematography and a fearless no-holds-barred lead performance."

A Dose for Dominic is a short documentary about Tony and Anjela’s decision to treat their severely autistic 5 year-old son, Dominic, with medical cannabis.
